Our small but growing enterprise tech team is looking for three talented Java Developers—one Senior, one Mid-Level, and one Junior—to join us in building custom enterprise applications and integrations.

Job Description

As a Java Developer at Glean Asia, you’ll work on custom backend development and integrations for our enterprise learning management system. The role primarily focuses on backend Java development. We provide training and certification for the enterprise systems we use.

You’ll work as part of a collaborative development team to build high-quality digital tools for a range of clients across Southeast Asia.
 

Open Positions

Senior Java Developer

You are an experienced developer who can lead technical work and mentor other developers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical implementations and resolve complex backend issues

• Mentor mid-level and junior developers

• Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders

• Ensure high code quality and performance

• Contribute to system architecture and design decisions
   

Requirements:

• 5+ years of Java development experience

• Strong knowledge of Spring and/or Hibernate

• Experience with Git-based version control and tools like JIRA

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong English communication skills; Khmer required

• Experience with Liferay is an advantage (training provided)
   

Mid-Level Java Developer

You have several years of hands-on experience and are ready to take on more responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Write and maintain backend code and APIs

• Participate in technical planning and team discussions

• Help debug and fix issues as they arise

• Deliver work on time and meet quality expectations
   

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of professional Java development experience

• Familiar with Java frameworks like Spring Boot

• Comfortable using Git, JIRA, and related development tools

• Good communication and collaboration skills

• Khmer proficiency required; English is a plus
   

Junior Java Developer

You’re starting your career and eager to learn and grow in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support backend development and integration tasks

• Work closely with mentors to build your technical skills

• Contribute to debugging and documentation

• Participate in code reviews and team learning sessions
   

Requirements:

• 0–2 years of experience (internships or school projects welcome)

• Basic knowledge of Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Familiarity with Git and general software development practices

• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies

• Strong motivation and communication skills
