Branding Strategist / Specialist (Consultant)

Position: Branding Strategist / Specialist (Consultant)

  • Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia (with travel to Preah Vihear and Takeo)

  • Duration: 12 months

Role Overview

Glean Asia is seeking a Branding Strategist / Specialist to lead the development and execution of branding strategies for community-based tourism destinations in Cambodia. The consultant will be responsible for shaping the identity, messaging, and positioning of the tourism destinations to appeal to both domestic and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a brand identity for target tourism destinations, ensuring alignment with ASEAN Tourism Standards.

  • Design and implement a brand strategy and promotional campaigns for community-based tourism (CBT) initiatives.

  • Create brand messaging guidelines, logos, and marketing materials.

  • Conduct branding workshops with local tourism businesses, CBTs, and government agencies.

  • Work closely with the Tourism Specialist and Marketing Team to ensure consistency in promotional efforts.

  • Develop branding materials and content that highlight cultural heritage, sustainability, and local experiences.

  • Ensure the branding campaign is inclusive, gender-sensitive, and culturally relevant.

Key Objectives

  • Establish a recognizable and compelling brand identity for the tourism sites.

  • Support economic recovery by making CBT destinations more attractive to travelers.

  • Increase visitor engagement through well-executed branding and messaging.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Branding, Communications, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in brand strategy, advertising, or marketing.

  • Experience in hospitality, tourism, or travel industry branding is highly preferred.

  • Strong portfolio of successful branding campaigns.

  • Experience in community engagement and local business development.
